Building a Church From Nothing

Social Church

  • Social Church
  • Brand Identity
  • 2024 – 2026
/ Problem01

Social Church didn't exist yet. Not just no logo — no visual identity, no voice, no language for what they believed or why, no plan for how people would physically get from a school parking lot to a seat in an auditorium on a Sunday morning. Everything had to be built from the ground up, at the same time, before launch day.

/ Thinking02

Before anything got designed, we worked through what Social Church wanted to be to the community — and how they wanted people to feel walking in the door. That became the foundation for the mission, vision, and core values language, which came before any of the visual system. From there we built the identity to match, and mapped the physical flow — parking lot to entrance to auditorium — so a first-time visitor never had to wonder where to go.

Working the monogram out on paper first.
/ Outcome03

Social Church launched in January and has been packing services since — enough that they've added a third weekend service.

/ The Brand Guide04

Fifteen spreads, start to finish — mission and values language through logo integrity, colour and type. Tap any page to read it.

/ In Use05

Where the system actually had to work — on a shirt, on a flag outside a school, and in the hand of someone visiting for the first time.
