The Hat We Brought Back

/ Problem01

This one didn't start with a brief. It started with a hat — a vintage Ore-Ida corduroy cap, handed down through family. Nobody makes them like that anymore. The question was whether we could bring one back honestly: same corduroy, same rope, same patch, same proportions — without it turning into a costume version of itself.

/ Thinking02

We rebuilt it from the original rather than reinterpreting it. Match the fabric, match the crown, match the way the patch sits. Then we put the process out where people could see it.

Corduroy, crown, brim, rope — measured off the original.
/ Outcome03

Ore-Ida saw it, and a hand-me-down turned into a partnership. They came to us about making the new one — and it shipped, with a photo shoot and a social campaign built around it.

/ Original / Remade04

The hand-me-down on the left, the remake on the right. Same corduroy weight, same patch, same crown — the brim and rope are where it moved.

/ Colourways05

Four production colourways off the same pattern.
